Our Purpose

Why We Do What We Do

We build because we have seen, first-hand, how much everyday life in Tanzania still runs on paper, queues and systems that were never designed for the people using them. Schools track results by hand, businesses lose time to processes that could take seconds, and too much local talent leaves to build other countries' futures. We refuse to accept that as the way things have to be.

We do what we do to keep value at home — to prove that world-class technology can be designed, built and owned right here, by Tanzanians, for the communities we live in. Every product we ship is a small argument that our problems are worth solving locally, with care and quality, rather than imported and adapted as an afterthought.

We do it for the young innovators who have the ability but not yet the opportunity. By building real products and real infrastructure, we create the kind of work that lets people learn, grow and stay. And we do it because secure, reliable digital systems are the foundation everything else stands on — when we get that right, communities, schools and businesses can finally focus on what they do best.

That is our "why": not technology for its own sake, but technology in service of dignity, opportunity and a digital future that belongs to the people it serves.

Tanzania's Digital Agricultural Marketplace

WeAgri connects crop and livestock farmers, buyers, seed and fertilizer sellers, plant doctors, and animal doctors in one place. Farmers list what they grow or raise and reach buyers directly, while sellers and specialists offer their products and expertise — all within a single bilingual (English & Kiswahili) platform built around how Tanzanians actually work the land.

Built as a fast, mobile-first web application backed by Supabase, WeAgri is designed to run smoothly even on modest smartphones and slower connections, putting Tanzania's agricultural economy online without leaving anyone behind.

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of MyEdu, WeAgrii, and our other products, websites, features, apps, services, technologies and software (together, the "Products"), except where we expressly state that separate terms apply instead. These Products are provided to you by Swerve Platforms, Inc., so these Terms form an agreement between you and Swerve Platforms, Inc. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use MyEdu or the other Products covered by them.

These Terms make up the entire agreement between you and Swerve Platforms, Inc. regarding your use of our Products, and they replace any earlier agreements.

Many of our Products are provided to you at no charge. Where a Product such as WeAgrii or another covered service is free to use, we may instead be paid by businesses and organisations to show you ads for their products and services. By using our Products you agree that we may show you ads we believe are relevant to you and your interests, and we may use your personal data to help decide which personalised ads to show you.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers, and we do not share information that directly identifies you — such as your name, email address or other contact details — with advertisers unless you give us specific permission. Advertisers can tell us the kind of audience they want to reach, and we show their ads to people who may be interested; we then provide advertisers with reports about how their ads performed.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal data, including to help determine some of the ads you see and to provide the other services described in these Terms. When you use Swerve's products and services, you place your trust in us with your information. We treat that as a serious responsibility. This policy is written in plain language so you can clearly understand what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.

Our goal is to keep you informed and in control. You can access, update, export or delete the information you have shared with us, and you decide how much you share in the first place. Where a service lets you create an account — for example a Swerve product such as MyEdu — you can use that account to create and manage your own content.

This Privacy Policy covers the Swerve website, our careers portal, our newsletter, and the Swerve products that link to it. Some products may have their own separate policy where their features require it; in those cases the product's own policy applies.

Information We Collect

We want you to understand the kinds of information we collect as you use our services. We only collect what we need to operate and improve what we offer.

Information you give us directly

  • When you apply for a role, you provide details such as your full name, email address, phone number, the documents you upload (your resume and CV), and your answers to the application questions.
  • When you subscribe to our newsletter, you give us an email address so we can send you updates.
  • When you contact us through the site, you provide your name, email address and the contents of your message.
  • When you create an account for a Swerve product, you provide the information that product needs to work, which may include a name and a password, and optionally a phone number.

Information from your use of our services

As you browse, we may collect basic technical information such as the type of device or browser you use, your general region, the pages you visit, and aggregate counts of visits. This helps us keep the site working correctly and understand, in general terms, how our services are used.

Content you create

We also keep the content you choose to provide while using our services — for example the messages you send us or the materials you submit with an application — so that we can respond to you and operate the service you asked for.

Why We Collect Data

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Provide our services

We use your information to deliver what you have asked for — for example, processing a job application and matching it to the right role, sending you the newsletter you subscribed to, or replying to a message you sent us.

Maintain and improve our services

We use information to make sure our services work as intended, to troubleshoot issues you report, and to make improvements over time based on how our services are actually used.

Develop new services

What we learn from running our existing services helps us design and build new ones.

Communicate with you

We use your contact details to send service-related messages, such as updates on an application, responses to your enquiries, and — if you have subscribed — news about our projects.

Protect Swerve, our users and the public

We use information to help keep our services safe and reliable. This includes detecting, preventing and responding to fraud, abuse, security risks and technical problems that could harm Swerve, the people who use our services, or the wider public.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Many of our services let you choose to share information, and where that is the case you stay in control of what you share. Remember that anything you choose to make public may become visible to others, including through search engines.

We share personal information outside of Swerve only in the limited situations below:

With your consent

We will share your personal information when you have given us your consent to do so. We also give you controls to review and manage access you have granted.

For external processing

Swerve operates and maintains its own server infrastructure, and your information is stored and processed on servers that we run and control directly. We do not hand your core data over to a third party to host on our behalf. Where we do engage a limited number of trusted service providers for specific support tasks, they act strictly on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations, and they are given only the minimum access needed for that task.

For legal reasons

We may share information where we reasonably believe it is required to meet a legal obligation, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety or property of Swerve, our users or the public.

Keeping Your Information Secure

We build security into our services to protect your information, and we work hard to defend against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of the information we hold. Our measures include:

  • We use encryption to help keep your data private while it is in transit.
  • We offer security features, such as account protections, to help safeguard the accounts you create with us.
  • We review our collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security, to guard against unauthorised access to our systems.
  • We restrict access to personal information to the staff, contractors and agents who need it to do their work. Anyone with such access is bound by strict confidentiality obligations and may face disciplinary action if they fail to meet them.

If we ever detect a risk we think you should know about, we will notify you and help guide you through the steps to stay protected, using the email address or phone number you provided to us.

Compliance & Cooperation with Regulators

We regularly review this Privacy Policy and work to make sure we handle your information in ways that comply with it and with applicable law.

Data transfers

We maintain servers in Tanzania and may use infrastructure located elsewhere, so your information may be processed on servers outside the country where you live. Data protection laws differ between countries, but wherever your information is processed we apply the protections described in this policy, and we comply with the relevant legal frameworks for transferring data.

Responding to complaints

When we receive a formal written complaint, we respond by contacting the person who made it. Where needed, we work with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve complaints about the handling of your data that we cannot resolve with you directly.

About This Policy

When this policy applies

This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered by Swerve Company and its affiliates. It does not apply to services that operate under their own separate privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without your clear consent, and where changes are significant we will provide a more prominent notice.

These third parties are expected to operate according to applicable laws, privacy standards, and security requirements.

User Control and Cookie Management

Users may manage, disable, or remove cookies through browser settings, device settings, or platform privacy controls where available. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect service functionality, login systems, personalization features, platform performance, or security operations.

Policy Updates

About WeAgri

Tanzania's Digital Agricultural Marketplace

Live at weagri.netlify.app

Tanzania's farming economy runs largely offline — produce, livestock, seeds, fertilizer, and expert advice all change hands through word of mouth and physical markets. WeAgri brings that entire ecosystem into one digital marketplace, so the people who grow and raise Tanzania's food can reach buyers, suppliers, and specialists directly from a phone.

The platform serves six kinds of users in one place: crop farmers and livestock farmers listing what they produce, buyers browsing and purchasing directly, seed and fertilizer sellers reaching customers at scale, and plant doctors and animal doctors offering expert consultations to keep crops and herds healthy.

WeAgri was built as a fast, mobile-first, single-page web application in both English and Kiswahili, backed by a Supabase database for listings, messaging, and user accounts. That lightweight architecture means it loads quickly and works reliably even on modest smartphones and slower mobile connections — the everyday reality for much of its target audience — so getting online doesn't mean leaving anyone behind.

Key Features

Marketplace listings for crops, livestock, seeds & fertilizer
Direct farmer-to-buyer connections, no middleman
Plant & animal doctor consultations
Group chat between sellers and buyers
Bilingual English & Kiswahili interface
Mobile-first design for everyday smartphones
